CORONAWHY

MEDICAL LITERATURE ANALYTICS

In a race against time, medical practitioners and scientists are scrambling to find treatments and cures while drowning in a sea of published literature and scientific papers. The exponentially increasing volume of researches is making it extra challenging to break through the clutter and extract meaningful patterns.

Manga Solutions, spearheaded by Mike Honey, is participating in a global collective effort in enabling the medical research community to accelerate the pace of discovery by applying technological ingenuity and innovation. A transformative and sustainable AI-driven automated search engine is just the beginning of a new era in the world of scientific literature.

AN OVERWHELMING

EXPLOSION OF RESEARCHES

We are all in a pandemic rush, faced with an information conundrum, especially when the novel coronavirus first came to light. Medical experts struggle to find relevant meaning and derive knowledge that can help combat against the invisible enemy.

As thousands of scientific researches become publicly available weekly, the difficulty of keeping informed, connecting the dots speedily, and ensuring quality evidence-based insights becomes even more demanding.

CORONAWHY INITIATIVE AT SPEED

CoronaWhy is a volunteer-driven research community with over a thousand technical experts from around the world. Its mission is to equip the medical community in solving the most challenging high-priority scientific questions using a range of AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and data visualization techniques.

It is an urgent call that supports researchers in finding the answers they need quickly and more accurately.

A NEW ERA OF

AI-POWERED DRIVEN  LITERATURE REVIEW

CoronaWhy features an Open Source

AI-Powered “Literature Review Discovery Engine,” one of the dashboards produced and visualized by Mike. Its primary objective is to alleviate the workload of medical practitioners and expedite the efficient review and navigation of

COVID-19 related literature in real-time.

It is based on the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) and scispaCy models designed to analyze medical and scientific texts for Named-entity Recognition (NER). The NER algorithm and other data attributes are matched with the input texts to produce interactive and intuitive visualizations.
